Um. Very bad idea, stuff like that is generally unreliable at best and morally dubious.

Ignoring morality for a sec, just tell her charge people anywhere from $ 5 to $ 100 depending on how gullible they are and how powerful the spell is. Avoid highly devout Christians/Jews/Muslims, because they will no doubt object to it.

But yeah. Just tell her to get a part time job. It’s a simpler, more reliable route of getting money.

    Not real ones.
Only charlatans and snake oil salesmen.

No ‘true’ witch will ask for money for spells. Spells are supposed to be for the good of either oneself or the community at large or the world at large. People who claim to do spells for others and then charge for such services are most likely shysters, not true practitioners of The Craft.

It can be very dangerous for people to pretend to cast spells for others. If they do Try to cast, and something goes wrong, than it can backfire on them. If they simply take the money and pretend to do something and the promised result doesn’t happen…well, some people get testy about being taken advantage of. I would point out the problems with her idea.

I’ve never met anyone who legitimately practiced the Craft to do that… only scammers.

Not that I’ve heard of. As a matter of fact, I think that would be looked down upon because many of those in the occult treat their rituals and deities with reverence.

An example I can think of would be Aleister Crowley, who partook in many spells, but never for money. Nor did he charge people for spells (he did spells primarily for his own benefit, anyway). He did do things like cast spells to gain money, which he claims worked when people would fund his lifestyle and his “spiritual” journeys.

However, he did write a book on spells. So, in that way, he charged money for (teaching) spells, I suppose.

Generally it’s frowned upon for Witches to charge for services. Donations for time and supplies are accepted but a Witch shouldn’t demand money for their service, as their craft is a blessing, not a money-making scam.

But then, there are all kinds of people in every craft and belief system out there.
